I found the practice of the author giving a 5 stars to his own book very bad. She entered the comment as herself therefore my 2* instead of one only for at least this honesty.
Book might be good but I do not see why she would get a 5* average becasue of her own vote. It even makes me thing about the validity of the other one although it might be valid.

Absolutely nothing new here. And some points that made my eyebrows go up, to say the least. Also, my copy had editorial problems in the Vitamins and Supplements section. I’ve written to the editor to see if he’ll send me a complete copy (I had paragraphs of text just missing).
But in terms of content, it was just old and tired and dull. The book itself was a tough read and the tone, overall, was as if Clark were writing to the average walker trying to finish her first marathon.
There’s nothing here you can’t find at Runner’s World or a million other magazines/web sites. And I tend to think you can do better elsewhere.
I would not recommend it.

This is a good book for someone who has little or no understanding of basic nutrition. I don’t think it provides any new information for someone who already knows the basics of sports nutrition, and I would have liked more detail.

If you are training for a marathon and are wondering what foods to eat, get this book. Full of helpful tips and recipes. This book was great at helping me decide my pre-race meal as well as pre-long run meals. Finished my marathon in 3 hours and 42 mins!

I always love Nancy Clark. She is easy to read and follow. Instead of getting into the technicallities she sticks with practical general advice. This is a great book for those training for their first marathon or unsure how to eat through training and race day.
